Key Losto

The keys are gone. Let's not even talk about the keys.

But while I was out in the backyard doing some work (and hoping in vain that my keys would turn up), I noticed the Iris was in bloom, just in time for Holy Week, so I took a picture.

They're very hard to photograph. I don't know if it's because of the white in the center, & the camera gets confused about how much exposure to give them or what. Also the shape is weird.

Also, you have to shoot them at just the right angle so that the weeds don't show.

And speaking of hard to photograph, the hummingbird came by while I was out there, and he was in the mood to hang out and visit, so I kept taking pictures of him, and I was really excited because he's a ruby-throated, and we usually get the other kind, the green ones. Allen's hummingbird, I think they're called.

Then we took Tony's grandma some palms for Palm Sunday, and I told her about the lost keys, and she said "Oh hell, I lose mine every other day. Pray to St. Anthony. Works every time."

Well, I'm glad she told me that, because I was ready to buy a metal detector.
