So me and Tony are up in Sacramento last Sunday visiting Kevin and Nancy, and after we move in the furniture and the TV from the moving sale, we get to talking about the research that I'm doing on this gang of West Coast Depression-Era bank robbers, and I happen to mention Folsom Prison.
Dude says to me "Folsom Prison? That's like twenty minutes away. Did you know they have a museum and a gift shop?"
I said "Dude, I feel a road trip comin' on."
So I handed the Dude the keys to the Honda, and Nanc' kept an eye on the young 'uns, as the Dudes headed east on Highway 50.
Sadly the gift shop was closed "until further notice" on account of the prisoners had apparently been using it to smuggle contraband.
But you can buy tee shirts and ball-and-chain key chains and stuff in the Museum. Suzy, our friendly docent told us that her hottest item is the Johnny Cash "Live at Folsom Prison" CD.
I would have bought one, but Tony has a strict rule about only one Country & Western CD in the glove compartment at a time, and I'm not ready to put Tammy Wynette in the trunk.
