Point and click

The last time I was at Yosemite was the week before Memorial Day weekend in 1993. Yosemite was packed! It was like Disneyland down there on the valley floor.

So my friend John and I hiked up to Yosemite Point, and it was empty up there. There was nobody around at all.

And the view was spectacular! You could see for miles!

So since this was Jeffrey's very first trip ever to Yosemite, I suggested to him that we hike up to Yosemite Point, which is North of Upper Yosemite Falls and 2963 feet above the valley floor.

It was just as wonderful as I'd remembered, and there were far fewer people at the lower end of the trail, since this is the off season for Yosemite, and once again, there was nobody up there at the top.

In fact, it was so quiet and peaceful, me and Jeffrey took a little nap up there.

So yeah. It was a great experience, but next time I'm bringing Advil, some fruit and about twice as much water.

And a chubbier friend. I figure if the bears see me and Jeffrey up there snoozing away, it's kind of a crapshoot which one of us they'd eat first.
