my 25-year high school reunion is coming up on August 1st, and there has been some talk about reassembling the class of '78 nerd squad and engaging in some group activity appropriate to our position as social outcasts. i'm thinking maybe karaoke.
and that, of course, has led to a lot of petty jealousy over who deserves the title of Class Geek.

no, friends, my website has not been defaced. that thumbnail points to an actual polaroid of me taken sometime around 1976 right outside the entrance to Spring Branch Senior High School, Houston Texas, not far from a courtyard where we nerds used to play some sort of hockey game with a smashed up aluminum can.
