keep on truckin'

momentum is really building for the 25 year reunion of the Spring Branch High School class of '78, due to take place on August 1st at the provocatively named Whiskey Dicks. we're all emailing eachother catching up on the news.

it occurred to me as i was discussing family matters with my classmate Cindy Cicchetti (née Fennell, yes the same love goddess whose cult briefly flourished as the all-but-official religion of the nerd table), i don't have a decent picture of my nephew on the site.

so check this out. is that an adorable picture or what?

we took david to an outdoor wedding in Walnut Creek that day. that's why he has that yellow truck. we got it for him so he wouldn't be bored.

well not only did the truck keep him amused, everybody else got a big kick out of it, too.

that's because the ring bearer, who was about david's age, in the middle of the service, squirmed out of his chair, ran into the gazebo where i'd stashed the truck and came running back to the chupa holding the truck over his head in the traditional "look what i found!" posture.

brought the house down! even the rabbi laughed.

the mother of the bride had to pry it away from him and keep it in her lap for the rest of the service. i understand it's in most of the photos. well, yellow's a good color for weddings. at least it wasn't puice!
